Well. I guess my invitation to Taylor’s wedding got lost in the mail. Should have let that girl know I moved to Barstow. But I”m not hurt. Mazel Tov, you two crazy kids. Lots of babies and good times to you.
This is a “news” post to let you know what I’m up to.
As you can see above, for the fourth year in a row, I am a finalist for Killer Nashville’s Claymore Award. It’s for unpublished novels. The thought is that if I am a finalist, the book is good enough for a publisher to put out, though for the last three years no one has contacted me with any interest in my finalist novels. Nor have I won the award.
This year’s entry is “Cleopatra’s Tomb,” a thriller about a woman archeologist who thinks she’s found that elusive tomb. Lots of hijinks and adventure in the offing, as well as more than a few bodies.
I also want to let you know that next month’s edition of Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine will include my story “Minerva James and the Goddess of the Hearth.” This is Minerva’s fifth appearance in that magazine.
I am working on the revisions for the Minerva novel. I hope to get it to my agent by the end of August so she can use the AHMM story as an inducement for the publishers to look at the book.
Oh, and as a lawyer I recently helped California Senator Adam Shiff’s office with a case for which they needed a small task done. Task was done and all parties are happy.
Other than that, life has been sedate in Barstow for the kid. HOpe your summer is going well.
